why we went: Highly recommended national park with a Junior Ranger program that was near campground, Desert Hot Springs.
when we went: Tuesday in Mid-November. Wasn’t crowded, but wasn’t empty.
what we found: A very cool place with great roads, according to my husband.
how long we were there: Most of one day, then half of another day.
what it cost: Free with NPS annual pass.
what we thought: We loved it. Max said it was the best day of his life. We took lunch and drinks, because you’ll only find restrooms and picnic tables. We walked around and climbed rocks the whole time, while working on Junior Ranger workbook. We drove in at the north entrance and drove through to the south, which closed at 4:30 PM, too late for us to turn in the JR workbook, so we had to go back during our stay.
