why we went: We drove into Baltimore for the day, looked like a good NPS stop.
when we went: Sunday afternoon in early April
what we found: A fort similar, but different than the Castillo de San Marcos. Not very crowded. Visitors can walk through the visitor center and watch a short video that is shown every half hour. The historic fort has an admission fee.
how long we were there: Just over an hour.
what it cost: Free with annual NPS pass.
what we thought: Wow, I knew nothing about the War of 1812 and how it played a part of Francis Key Scott writing the national anthem. The kids did the Junior Ranger workbook, which was a good one. This was a good stop before our tour of the US Capitol Building.
