why we went: A free park with a lighthouse and a cool tree that was within driving distance.
when we went: Mid-October
what we found: A small free parking lot with a restroom, a trail down to the lighthouse and cliff views that was about a quarter mile, and another trail to the Octopus Tree. They were short walks, but some uphill and downhill spots with tree roots. There are trails to hike through the Sitka Spruces.
how long we were there: About an hour
what it cost: Free, the lighthouse is open on weekends April through September. It was closed when we were there. There are coin-operated viewers for whale watching. We thought we saw a couple spouts.
what we thought: It was an interesting stop.
