why we went: Our first destination was Nehalem Bay State Park, about 15 miles south of Cannon Beach. We stopped at Mo’s for lunch on the way there.
when we went: A mid-October Sunday afternoon.
what we found: A big empty parking lot with RV parking. We got the best table at Mo’s and walked on the beach alone.
how long we were there: A couple hours. We had lunch and then let the kids play on the beach.
what it cost: Free restaurant parking. Mo’s is next to Tolovana Beach State Recreation Site, the south side of Cannon Beach. Haystack Rock is just north.
what we thought: It was our first time on the Oregon coast. It was beautiful. The kids loved the sand and water, even though it was only 60 degrees. The rocks are cool. And there were bunnies hopping all over the place near the restaurant. I don’t know why, but there were bunnies on the grass in front of the restaurant.
