David Bowie died. Cancer. He turned 69 last week. My dad would have been 69 yesterday.
We are in New Orleans for five nights. I am looking forward to an awesome dinner somewhere, maybe tonight. Maybe beignets tomorrow. Maybe tours of stuff this week.
The Pontchartrain Landing RV Park has a bar with a restaurant and live entertainment every night. The office recommended going to bingo Thursday night, and kids are allowed. It doesn’t seem like we’re in such a great area, though.
Some RV parks have been miles outside town, some have been just off the highway near town, and others have been in town. This one is in a bit of an industrial area. We had to drive on a crappy road to get in here. It didn’t give a very positive impression of the place. When we drive into a town for the first time, I always wonder who’s in charge of first impressions. Is the mayor, city manager, city council aware of what people see and how it affects their image of the place?
The tow dolly ran over something on the way here and one of the tires has a leak. I doubt a tire place is far from where are. I will take the tire to get plugged and be thankful. It could be worse!
