Have you been hit by a moment that makes you question your life? Why do we live here? Why do you work there? Why do we pay for this?
Why don’t we . . .
Is this where you are?
My husband’s job was wearing on him and he was bringing it home. My business was successful, but the success had turned my fun job into real work. Our kids were in preschool, 2nd, 4th, and 6th grades. It was the perfect time to make a big change.
We talked about a new business we could run together. Running a campground sounded perfect. We looked at campgrounds for sale and realized we would have to travel to see them. We also realized that although we had tent camped several times, we knew nothing about RVs and how they work. And where would we want to own a campground?
We had to decide where we wanted to operate a campground and we had to learn what’s involved in RV camping.
We had to hit the road!
When we decided to sell everything to buy an RV and hit the road, we knew nothing. We didn’t know what kind of RV would work for us or if we could afford it. So we bought books and went to a couple RV shows.
Eventually we sold our home, our business, and 98% of our stuff. We travel in a 2011 31N Jamboree Sport class C motorhome with a tandem tow dolly for our motorcycle and Mazda5.
If you’re interested in learning about RV travel with kids, I hope you can find the answers to your adventure questions here. You can read about the campgrounds and cities we’ve visited, and what we’ve learned along the way.
